For individuals
Individual therapy
For adults carrying anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, low self-esteem, or the quiet sense of being stuck. We look beneath the symptom to the pattern underneath — and build a life that feels more aligned and free.
Psychotherapy for adults & couples
Thoughtful, depth-oriented therapy for people who are ready to make sense of their patterns — and to change them.
Sheida Shavalian, MA, LMFT
One of the most meaningful investments we can make is turning inward — exploring our emotional world, understanding the roots of our struggles, and making space for change, healing and authenticity.
With over a decade of clinical experience, I offer a supportive and thoughtful space for adults and couples to feel seen, understood and empowered. Whether you are navigating a major life transition, recovering from past wounds, or longing for more connected relationships, you deserve support that feels grounded, compassionate and tailored to you.
“Therapy is not just about solving problems. It is about understanding the deeper story beneath the surface, so you can move forward with clarity and self-trust.”
Ways we can work together
For individuals
For adults carrying anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, low self-esteem, or the quiet sense of being stuck. We look beneath the symptom to the pattern underneath — and build a life that feels more aligned and free.
For couples
For partners facing disconnection, recurring conflict, intimacy difficulties, infidelity, or decisions around separation. Also pre-marital counselling and support through divorce.
What I help with
Most people arrive not with a single problem but with a knot of them — something that has been building for a while. These are the themes I work with most often.
My approach
The core of my work. Together we explore how early experiences and relationships have shaped the way you relate to yourself and to others, so that patterns become visible — and changeable.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, which I use to help process trauma, attachment wounds and distressing experiences that still feel stuck in the body.
When it is clinically useful, I integrate structured, skills-based interventions — for managing anxiety, anger, or the day-to-day mechanics of a difficult season.
English & Farsi
As a bilingual therapist, I hold space for the ways culture, identity and intergenerational experience shape our inner lives. If you have ever felt between two worlds — emotionally, culturally or relationally — that experience is welcome here, in either language.
Getting started
Send a short message through the contact form, or call. You do not need to explain everything — a sentence or two about what brings you here is plenty.
We speak for around fifteen minutes at no cost, so you can ask questions and get a feel for whether we are a good fit. Fit matters more than almost anything else in therapy.
A space to slow down and begin telling your story. I will ask thoughtful questions to understand what you have been struggling with and what you hope could feel different. There is no pressure to have it figured out.
I would be honoured to walk alongside you.
